Whenever people ask how long I've had a photography business, I'm surprised by the answer. I can't believe that four years have somehow passed in a flash. And then I remember how it all began and am even more surprised that I decided to have a baby, quit my job, and start a business all within a few months. What was I thinking?! If I had to do it over again, I'm not sure I would...that seems like pretty crappy timing. But as babies do, my business started small and has been growing like a weed ever since. As I look back, I appreciate all of the ways this business has grown and challenged me both personally and professionally, and I feel like a more whole person as a result. I have spent a lot of time reflecting on my business as I think about 2016 and make plans for the future. In that reflection I realized that what I love most about my job is the opportunity to meet and interact with a wide variety of people that I wouldn't otherwise. Entering into their lives for an hour or two to tell a part of their story. Sometimes that is our only interaction, and sometimes, I have the pleasure of telling their story over and over again.
I love my business. I love the people it allows me the opportunity to meet (some of whom have become dear friends), and I love the ways it is refining me as a person. Thank you all for being a part of this, for allowing me to do what I do, and for inviting me into your life to capture beautiful memories. Here are a few of my favorites from 2015.
