Dean Family | Seattle family photographer

On Friday nights in the summertime,  you can find the Dean family picnicking, playing in the sand, and giving their little boy zorberts at Golden Gardens. I was invited to document their Friday night ritual, and while the seals barked and the sun set, we captured authentic and meaningful memories for their family.

More lifestyle sessions, please! I love them. These pictures capture the life, movement, and love in your families, and they are absolutely beautiful.

Tulips and puddle jumping | Seattle Lifestyle Photographer

I grew up in the Skagit Valley, and while I don't really miss it or have nostalgic feelings about living there, I do have a hangup about taking pictures in the tulip fields every year. So this weekend we braved the crowds (and the mud) and headed to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival for our annual photos.

My kids are not interested in looking at or smiling for the camera (who is?!) so they ran around while I chased after them, snapping away. Lifestyle/documentary photos are actually my preference since they clearly tell the story of our lives and allow my girls' personalities to shine through much better than posed pictures ever do.

As you'll soon be able to see; the big girls ran wild, the baby tried to eat everything she got her hands on, and the highlight of our visit was a giant mud puddle. You can probably imagine how we all looked like by the time sloshed home in our rain boots.

At home with the Morgados

Some of Alice's favorite pictures of her family were the ones taken on the fly in her home. Kids sprawled out on the floor, legos and limbs everywhere, playing and creating together. So, when she booked her lifestyle session with me this summer, her goal was to simply capture her family being her family.

We spent the morning reading, building, riding, and laughing together in their home and at their favorite neighborhood park. It was perfect, and I love these pictures because they highlight the beauty in this family's quiet moments together.

Date night with the Zabels

Friday night at the Zabel house means cocktails, charcuterie, pizza, and a walk around the lake. I was thrilled when Kyle and Elise invited me to join them a few weeks ago to document their at-home date nights, and after watching them make cocktails and homemade pizza, I was secretly even more thrilled when they shared everything with me.

I love lifestyle sessions. They tell the simple stories of our everyday lives together, and these moments are so worth remembering.
